Why beer bubbles originating from the same point in the glass?

I happened to look more closely at my glass of beer one minute back and I realized all the bubbles in beer were originating from the same point. I am a bit curious as to why this is. Is it a deformity in the glass which serves as a collection point for carbonation, or is it pure coincidence that the first bubble up and the rest just follow suit? I know why there carbonation of the beer, I ask the cause of this.

The bubbles in beer as points that are easier for them to form. Ideally, this is in the bottom of the glass. perfect crystal is soft enough, and it is difficult to form bubbles. That's why people say not try and boil water in a glass container in the microwave. If the glass is pristine, no bubbles are formed and can actually overheat the water beyond its boiling point, that can go wrong when you take it out and agitation causes a rapid explosive boiling. Thus, the beer bubbles form in any place that is not a defect in the glass, or even when the glass is dirty. Many of these vases of beer days actually have recorded spots on the bottom of the glass bubbles that form. And if you're in a bar and a beer and bubbles around the sides of the glass, is a pretty good sign that the glass is dirty.
