What precious metals and stones are associated with the sea, in any culture?
I am creating a character for a story, and I'm designing a knife. Until now I have one Laguiole (French) with a stylized fish knife instead of a flying insect, titanium shell with a handle carved with waves. In my opinion, seems normal, and I wondered what I could use to spice up. Indeed, the character is based on the sea. To suggest stones, metals, wood or associated any of the other elements (fire, air, earth are the'm using), go ahead.
Matches have collected over the years, especially Celtic. Water: Metal - Silver Jewelry - Aquamarine, Beryl, Pearl, Moonstone, and river stones, in plants - fern, Lotus, water lily, tree (wood) - Sauce. Earth: Metal - Lead; Jewelry - Granite, Holystone, Jasper, quartz, salt, plants - Apples, Ivy, grain, tree (wood) - Oak. Air: Metal - Aluminum, Mercury, Jewelry - chalcedony lapis lazuli, sapphire, topaz, plants - Pansy, Primrose, Verbena, Violet, Yarrow, tree (wood) - Aspen. Fire: Metal - Gold, iron, Jewelry - Opal fire, fire agate, ruby, obsidian plants - Garlic, hibiscus, nettle, onion, Tree (Wood) - Almond.
