Damaged a flask of old leather help, please?
Hello, today I opened a bottle that once belonged to my grandfather .. It was filled with a liquid I imagine horrible was the rum and coke 20 years ago, but now was flat and included oxide .. Due to rust wash it with soap and hot water but when I left the room acidently left the tap running and it got VERY hot. The leather is cut and peeled off temporarily. Obviously I want to hit the leather again, seems to have been originally attached by a foul-smelling clear liquid (actually need) that was covered evenly across the entire surface to be inserted into the flask (with much effort it off), but without any sticky mess strange smell in my hand, I decided to make do with hot glue .. I've done nothing yet, but it's a decent idea?
without the skin can not be ruined if you need to have moisturizer applied to the portion of suede but you can use one mink oil for this and in some shoe stores and most repair shops, but honestly the skin can be custom made and replaced by about the same as oil mink cost. Buy cheap used leather skirt at a thrift store (look for half the price) and use the old piece as a pattern and the pattern more laying large contracted% that the pattern of heavy paper, like a manila folder and place in the bottle after pin to the skin and cut out.
