Help! what type of poem is Sylvia Plath's poem "Cinderella?" Sonnet? ?

Where guests slide gliding into light like wine;

Until near twelve the strange girl all at once
Guilt-stricken halts, pales, clings to the prince

As amid the hectic music and cocktail talk

And if its possible can you help me interpret it?

Yes, you're right. It's a sonnet.

There's not much to interpret. The poem aims to capture one fraught moment in the Cinderella story. The young woman is in her glory at the royal ball, but midnight is fast approaching, and she realizes with horror that it's all about to end.

Some readers might find that the poem captures something about the great clock that's ticking for all of us with the inevitable approach of death. Some, with an eye on Plath's own difficult life story, might say that the great loss Cinderella is about to suffer represents a loss of sanity or some other emotional catastrophe the poet might have feared.

There's a rich play of sounds throughout the poem. If you look at the ABAB CDCD EFEF GG rhyme scheme, you see that the A rhymes in the first quatrain and the C rhymes in the second are slant rhymes with each other. Likewise the B and D rhymes. And in the third quatrain, the E rhymes are slant rather than true, and both of them rhyme aslant with the F rhymes. In the final couplet, all those hard K sounds -- "hectic music," "cocktail talk," "caustic ticking of the clock" -- capture the relentless tick-tick-tick of the clock, each tick working like a drop of some caustic substance to eat away at Cinderella's happiness. And there's a wealth of assonance, consonance, and internal rhyme, all of which combines with the lavish depictions of light, color, and motion to communicate the extravagant grandeur of the ball and the almost hallucinogenic quality of Cinderella's experience. I think the poem is ultimately hollow at its core, that the poet's technical expertise and the poem's sensory overload don't add up to much in the end. But a lot of other readers would probably disagree with that negative assessment.

Icing a cake?

I'm making a birthday cake for a family member that I have the idea of a website. Ive left trying to make a ice cube, it is somehow better and allowed to set for hard or go ice around the sponge. Promblem is that I have a bottle of champagne (sponge) to go on top of cake.My concerns is that if I put the round of icing the cake before it has been established, the weight of the Bottle Can cause the blade LayerD sponge to rip the icing .... any ideas?

Probably the easiest way is to use fondant icing. It is not so nice as royal icing, but much easier to work for something like your cake. The wheel and place it on the cake - not separated and waiting to dry.

How I can make the horse wall Bar Kitchen island integrated look?

I'm making an island a couple of cabinets out and construction a pony wall to withstand a high bar. Ideally, I want the black bar, but do not know how to integrate the onboard account I wanted to paint black. Also plans to paint the cabinets black as well. Should I set the grain on board to the sides of the cabinets and make it seem like a big piece? Any idea would be great.
