On the other hand, standalone, single tap kegerators are not built into the bar. They are basically set to one side of the bar.  And unless you are looking for a commercial grade unit, this option will definitely save you a couple of hundred bucks.

Whichever model you get though, single tap kegerators are perfect if you are a beer lover and you wish to simply install a home bar for the family and close friends.  Although it is a single tap and you can only enjoy one kind of beer at a time, you can still invite a number of people over and enjoy relaxation together.  No need to hurry dispensing different drinks, right? Your focus in having a bar at home is basically to enjoy the great-tasting pub-beer in a more intimate and cozier location anyway.  Just having a drinking binge should definitely not be on top of your priority.
