An under counter kegerator vents from the front. This will prevent the compressor from overheating when installed even in an enclosed area. Having it under your counter makes it easy to maintain the appearance you want for your home bar while hiding the bulky refrigeration and beer lines.
On the other hand, standalone, single tap kegerators are not built into the bar. They are basically set to one side of the bar. And unless you are looking for a commercial grade unit, this option will definitely save you a couple of hundred bucks.
Whichever model you get though, single tap kegerators are perfect if you are a beer lover and you wish to simply install a home bar for the family and close friends.
