I added potassium bisulfite to 6 gallons of wine in a flask, a while back. They seem to have created a vacuum?
The fermented wine and then sat in the flask for about a year. I never put the potassium bisulfite it at any time before, during or after fermentation. Recently the subject came dumped in containers and remove the material settled out in the bottom of the flask. Then put new wine in the bottle and add a little potassium bisulfite to it (something and 20 times what it should have, maybe more ...). Ever sinc ethene has been sucking in air through the stopcock again I put in it. Y today I went in the basement and the tap had somehow come out of the bottle! I do not know how this could have happened, no further fermentation. Maybe a vacuum inside somehow overthrown? It makes no sense to me. I guess its now contaminated. But what happened to him after bisulfite added potassium? And NO, I have no idea what I was doing years ago or now, but certainly had alcohol in it before putting in the potassium bisulfite.
